Gavin Stevenson

I first met Gavin at the folk club in Quarter a small village near Gavin's home town of Stonehouse Lanarkshire. He played a set which totally captivated the audience with his couthy humour and songs. His lyrics were at times funny, witty, introspective and always using a rhyming style natural and unforced. We became friends and I had the pleasure of recording Gavin. The music you can listen to here is the result of that session made many years ago shortly before his untimely death. Gavin was a genius in the wrong place and it told on his health.
His singing was never going to be commercial with his broad lanarkshire dialect so recording companies weren't interested. However you can have the pleasure of listening to him here.
